RECOMMENDED: Use Silverlight in the 32-bit Internet Explorer process on x64 systems. Most browser plug-ins (including Silverlight, Flash, Java and almost all ActiveX controls) only work in 32-bit browsers currently.

For Apple Mac OS users:

Make sure you have the one specific font Silverlight is looking for, it is Arial.ttf, just plain arial.ttf. Also, make sure you are putting it in hd/library/fonts. If you have placed other arial fonts in that folder, try removing them so the only arial font in the folder is arial.ttf. Otherwise Silverlight may get confused!!

1.Verify your system requirements
Please make sure your system has Silverlight Compatible Windows operating system and browser and that you have uninstalled any previous version of Silverlight or code name 'WPF/E.'

2.Download Silverlight

The browser will prompt you to either run or save the installation file (Silverlight.2.0.exe). Click Run to start the download. When the download is finished, the browser prompts you again to run the installer. Click Run to start the installation. Note that you must have sufficient administrative privileges to install Silverlight. Save Silverlight.2.0.exe to your hard disk. Once the download is finished, click Open. The installation starts.

3.Install Silverlight
o If you are running the Windows Vista operating system, you will be prompted for security permissions. To continue, you need to approve.
o Click 'Install now' after reviewing the license agreement and privacy statement.
o If you have had a previous version of Silverlight installed, or are using Mozilla Firefox, you will need to restart your browser.
o You can now use Silverlight.
